Competitive Capabilities International (CCI) currently has a new and exciting vacancy available for a Group Financial Manager, reporting to the Global Financial Controller.
The Group Financial Manager is responsible for all areas relating to historic financial accounting principles. This position will be responsible for maintaining and applying accounting principles, practices and procedures in compliance with IFRS and corporate policies to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Group Financial Manager is responsible for managing the accounting team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. The position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget, forecasting and cashflow.

Ensure compliance with internal control policies.
Ensure the business adheres to relevant tax compliance guidelines in all regions.
Management of the global insurance contracts
Ensure accurate and timely capturing of Accounts receivable and the collections in all entities.
Ensure accurate and timely capturing of Accounts payable within all entities.
Reviewing all intercompany account balances monthly and at year end to ensure appropriate eliminations at a group level.
Responsible for maintaining and applying policies, procedures, and strategy for cashflow management
Analyse the effect of statutory accounting practices and studies regulations and guidance to ensure appropriate application of IFRS.
Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
Ensure continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
Manage fixed assets, leases and other contracts.
Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover and prevent fraud.
Accountable for managing accounting payroll activities within every entity.
Review of statutory financial statements.
Support the Global Financial Controller in financial audits of group consolidated financials, statutory accounting practices and regulations relevant to all entities.
Produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and all statutory reporting for month-end and year end with the Global Financial Controller.
Responsible for the management of the Financial Accounting team across the Group including KPIs, priorities and goals
Active involvement in improvement projects and system implementations.

KPA 2: Review of actuals monthly, YTD and annually
KPA 3: Compliance deadlines achieved
KPA 4: Effective Cashflow management
KPA 5: Effective Team Management
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
KPI 1: Financial Accounting processing complete by Working Day 10
KPI 2: Audit completed by due date.
KPI 3: No material reporting non-compliance and MLP’s from prior year resolved.
KPI 4: Maintenance of healthy AR, AP, cash cover and liquidity ratios
KPI 5: Performance reviews completed for the year for all relevant team members.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Financial Accounting, Management Accounting or related field required.
SAICA is advantageous.
Minimum of 7 years of broad financial and operations experience required.
Ability to develop and establish internal financial policies and procedures.
Strong understanding of IFRS
Understanding of US GAAP would be advantageous
Advanced English language skills.
Team player with highly developed interpersonal skills, who can engage with people at all levels inside and outside the company and involve and collaborate with key stakeholders.
Analytical ability to analyse and improve current practices, performance and company processes.
